November 15, 2008taunted.
look at how harmless they lay? a visit to the zoo last september tells me that these tigers are really quite…. harmless. the distance between the tigers and us visitors were so far that a normal 3X optical zoom camera couldnt get u the above picture.
i guess, the poor tigers were traumatised.
All About Cameras – Part One (continued)
November 10, 2008Ok, list of questions to ask:
- How often will you use the camera?
- What type of photographs will you take?
Point and Shoot: Infrequent, images of friends and family events
- Will you be creating prints of your photographs?
- Do you want the capability of printing photo-quality prints of your images?
YES? Camera resolution should be 5 megapixel and above. Anything at 5 or higher is good enough. No point getting a 10 megapixel and paying more when you can get a camera of the same specs but at probably 8 megapixels at a lower price.
Are you going to photograph:
- Wildlife: recommended to have optical zoom 5X or more, can shoot several frames per second, image stabilisation
- Water related: to purchase a waterproof camera body. If not, purchase waterproof housing for the camera
- Sporting events(lots of movement): camera that has sports shooting mode(point and shoot), cameras that allows manual adjustments of shuttle speed(high end digital/ DSLRs)
- Portraits(people): camera with portrait mode(point and shoot), camera that have aperture preferred shooting mode (high end digital/ DSLRs)
- Low light: Maximum ISO to be 400 or higher, image stabilisation (all kinds)
- Fast moving objects: Maximum shuttle speed of 1/2000 of a second or more. (high end digital/ DSLRs)

Let me start from the very basic, which most people think they know, but no.
Part One: Choosing the right camera.
Now, there is no one camera that is so called “THE BEST”. Each camera is good in a certain field, weaker in others. It is the combination of the camera that brings out the best kind of pictures that you want.
Now, let’s look at a checklist of questions you need to ask yourself before buying a camera. Now, think about it before i give u the checklist tomorrow.
